Rules and policies

These rules keep iAdvertise.store safe and fair for buyers and sellers in Zimbabwe and in the diaspora. They apply to every ad, store, message, review and offer, on the website and in the app. They sit alongside our terms of use and the laws of Zimbabwe.

Items and services you may not advertise

  • Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives, and anything made to injure people.
  • Drugs: illegal drugs, and medicines that need a prescription.
  • Stolen or illegally obtained goods, and goods you do not have the right to sell.
  • Fakes: counterfeit or copied branded goods, pirated films, music, software or games.
  • Wildlife: ivory, rhino horn, pangolin, bushmeat, and protected plants or animals.
  • Money and finance: unlicensed loans, investment or “double your money” schemes, pyramid schemes, crypto or forex trading signals, and buying or selling foreign currency outside the law.
  • Adult content: sexual services, explicit images, and anything involving minors.
  • Documents: fake or stolen IDs, passports, certificates, number plates or vehicle papers.
  • People and animals: anything to do with human trafficking; live animals only where legal, healthy and described honestly.
  • Age-restricted goods (alcohol, tobacco) only by licensed sellers, and never to people under 18.

Posting an ad

  1. Be honest. Use your own photos of the actual item, the real price, and the true condition.
  2. One item per ad, in the right category. Do not post the same ad more than once.
  3. Keep contact details in the right place. Use your store’s contact settings or our chat, not phone numbers stuffed into titles or photos.
  4. No bait. Prices like “USD 1” or “call for price” on items you are not really selling at that price are not allowed.
  5. Keep it up to date. Mark items as sold and remove ads for things you no longer have.

Some new ads are checked by our team before they go live. This usually takes less than 24 hours.

Buying safely

  • Meet in a public place in daylight, or use our office pickup, where we hold the item and check it.
  • See the item before you pay. Never pay a deposit to someone you have not met.
  • Never send money by Western Union, MoneyGram, gift cards or crypto to someone you do not know.
  • Read our safety tips before your first purchase.

Messages, offers and reviews

  • Be polite. No harassment, threats, hate or spam.
  • Only make offers you intend to honour. An accepted offer is a promise to buy or sell at that price.
  • Reviews must be about your own experience with the seller and the item. Paid, fake or revenge reviews are removed.
  • Use Block in a chat to stop someone contacting you, and Report on any ad that breaks these rules.

Stores and sellers

  • A store must belong to a real person or business. Business names, logos and photos must be yours to use.
  • Verified and Gold badges are given only after we check your documents. Pretending to be verified, or to be another business, is not allowed.
  • Sellers abroad must state where the item ships from and how long delivery takes.

What we do when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may hold an ad for review, remove it, limit what an account can do, or suspend the account. We report crimes, such as fraud or trafficking, to the police. If you think we made a mistake, contact us through the imprint page and we will look again.
